Our September 2017 Rainbow Covenant Mission Focus is the ChildServ organization in Chicago, IL. This organization serves children and families facing adversity in the counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake. Their community-based programs' focus is to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families, foster parents, and other caregivers. Please consider being a part of a meaningful ministry where you "serve others" (literally!) We need members to assist Pastor Kim with serving commuion on the first Sunday of the month and at other "special" communion services such as Christmas Eve, Holy Week, etc. The sign up sheet is on the back table of the sanctuary or you may call the church office to volunteer. This month's mission focus is the Appalachia Service Project (ASP), a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia in the United States. It brings thousands of volunteers from all around the country to repair homes for low-income families. Last year, 16,231 volunteers served with ASP, providing critical repairs for 493 families and constructing 26 new homes. for more information on this important missionwork, go to: www.asphome.org.
