Join us on Sunday, Dec. 10 in our Fellowship Hall/Gymnasium as our Sunday School children present their Christmas Program, "The Colors of Christmas" at 9 a.m. on our Fellowship Hall stage.  A potluck will follow after the program.  Everyone is welcome!

Our September 2017 Rainbow Covenant Mission Focus is the ChildServ organization in Chicago, IL.  This organization serves children and families facing adversity in the counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake.  Their community-based programs' focus is to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families, foster parents, and other caregivers.  Please consider learning more about this important mission opportunity close to home.  Please visit their website at:  www.chilserv.org for more wonderful details of how this organization does so much for so many.  

Please consider being a part of a meaningful ministry where you "serve others" (literally!)  We need members to assist Pastor Kim with serving commuion on the first Sunday of the month and at other "special" communion services such as Christmas Eve, Holy Week, etc.  The sign up sheet is on the back table of the sanctuary or you may call the church office to volunteer.  Thank you!

Our Friday evening youth group for "tweens & teens" meets at 5:30 p.m. for worship, a light supper, fellowship, fun & recreation!  Come and see what this group is all about!

This month's mission focus is the Appalachia Service Project (ASP), a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia in the United States.  It brings thousands of volunteers from all around the country to repair homes for low-income families.  Last year, 16,231 volunteers served with ASP, providing critical repairs for 493 families and constructing 26 new homes.  for more information on this important missionwork, go to: www.asphome.org.  

Zion UMC of Mendota is happy to announce the ordination of our Pastor, Hogun Kim.  We will be celebrating this Sunday with 9 a.m. worship and refreshments and fellowship to follow at 10 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall.  The community is invited and welcome to join us as we honor Pastor Kim's marvelous achievement!

This Sunday, Pastor Kim's sermon is entitled, "The Joy of the Lord, Our True Strength."  His lesson text is Psalm 108:1-13.  Sunday School also meets at 9 a.m. with Coffee & Conversation at 10 a.m.
