A great group of Zion UMC volunteers traveled to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, Illinois on Friday, October 14 to serve others by assembling flood relief items. It was a great day!

All Ages Worship, Sunday, October 16, 2016! What does this mean?

This coming Sunday, October 16 at 9 a.m. Zion will be having an "All Ages Worship Service." This means that all ages will be assisting during worship, such as being greeters, ushers, lesson readers, offering assistants, handing out bulletins, collecting Welcome Cards, or leading prayers. It is also "Invite a Friend Sunday!" Ask someone you know to come to church with you this week to see what Zion UMC is all about! We can't wait to welcome you!

Sign Up by October 15 for the Dekalb District Lay Academy!

The deadline is fast approaching for signing up for the Fall Lay Academy! This year, the meetings will be held on two different Saturdays: October 22, 2016 from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and November 5, 2016 from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are so lucky that it will be held "right down the road" from us at Paw Paw United Methodist Church! FREE CHILDCARE IS AVAILABLE! This is your chance to learn more about being a lay servant, and also to further your study in advanced courses, including "Go Preach!" by Rev. Wesley Dickson; "Life Together in the UM Connection," led by Rev. Brian Gilbert; "Discovering Our Spiritual Gifts," led by Joyce Carrasco and a "Children's Message Workshop," led by Rev. John Meyers. Zion Book Club Meets October 12 at Stonecroft Retirement Community
